With schools open once again, the energy at Akwaaba is truly contagious. Our learners are thrilled to be back in the classroom, reconnecting with friends, teachers, and the routines that help them grow and thrive. After the break, the return to school has been filled with excitement, laughter, and a renewed sense of purpose.
The year has already started on a joyful note. Our boys and girls have jumped straight into games and team activities, building friendships and confidence along the way. From friendly competitions to moments of teamwork and celebration, there have already been plenty of wins—both big and small—that are setting a positive tone for the months ahead.
Beyond the classroom, our commitment to the community remains as strong as ever. As the new school year begins, we are reconnecting with families across the community, checking in and making sure every child starts the year feeling supported and encouraged. These conversations help strengthen the partnerships that make our work possible.
Across the vocational centers, activity is in full swing. Our IT class, sewing program, and hair salon have all reopened and are buzzing with learning and creativity. Young people are building practical skills, exploring new interests, and gaining confidence in spaces designed to help them succeed.
And perhaps one of the most exciting sights of all is our library, which is welcoming more children than ever before. The shelves are busy, the tables are full, and the quiet corners are alive with curious minds discovering new stories and ideas.
It’s a wonderful start to the year at Akwaaba, and we are grateful to our volunteers, supporters, and community members who continue to make this work possible. Together, we look forward to many more moments of learning, growth, and joy in the months ahead.
