We were so excited to welcome our first volunteer group of the year to Ghana and to the Akwaaba community!
Their time with us was filled with energy, connection, and meaningful impact. During their visit, the group supported a wide range of activities that brought smiles to so many faces. They spent time teaching at our partner school, helping students in the classroom and sharing their enthusiasm for learning.
Outside the classroom, the volunteers also rolled up their sleeves to repair and restore school desks, helping improve the learning environment for the children. They joined our sports sessions as well, even introducing the kids to boxing, which quickly became a highlight and brought plenty of excitement and laughter.
The group also spent time in our library, reading stories with the children and encouraging a love of books and learning. In addition, they helped distribute donations they had generously brought along, ensuring that many children and families received extra support.
We are deeply grateful to the volunteers who choose to spend their time with Akwaaba Volunteers. Their enthusiasm, kindness, and willingness to jump into every activity make a lasting difference in our community.
And with this wonderful first group, we know it’s just the beginning of what promises to be an incredible year together.
